This is, by far, THE most versatile laptop stand you will EVER find. I seriously don't thing you could make one that has more options than this, Executive Office Solutions Portable Stand. Each of the three pivot points will rotate 360 degrees. THIS is serious folks. I can't do the math, but I can say that no matter how you want to sit, stand or lay, this stand will accommodate your needs! The stand is very lightweight, although very well made. I've dropped it several times (yikes!) and the paint has not scratched or chipped. The hinges or pivot's have not waivered. This stand is very sturdy. The stand also has a built in cooling fan, with usb, so it works when the laptop is on (sleep mode shuts off the fan). The fan is quiet, the fan blades do not hit the vents, like it does on both of my other laptop cooling stands. Well done Executive Office Solutions! My laptop is 15", maybe just a hair bigger. This could accommodate bigger, the laptop would just hang off the edge. Mine fits it perfectly! I normally use a lap desk with a cushy bottom. That is going out the door! This is WAY better for doing any kind of work! I can't say that there are any negatives with this stand. If you were a very, very large person, you would have to depend on using this stand on a solid surface. I'm an average (not twiggy) female and it fits easily over the width of my lap. The total length of the stand is 19 inches and depth is 10 inches or so. You can easily put this in your backpack and not notice the difference from weight. The only learning curve associated with the stand is adjustment. I have longer fingernails, so it's a little hard to get just the right push in, but it gets easier the more you do it. Both sides have to be adjusted, so I do one side at a time
