I'm 69 years old and have been fat all my life. I've had lower back pain and weakness for several years and my doctor says it's only because I'm carrying an extra 75lbs on my belly which pulls me forward off the natural alignment of my body. He says there is nothing that can be done and I have to live with it. This year it has become worse. Mowing the lawn has been an agonizing experience and I've done little other activity. Shopping in stores and walking anywhere has been almost absent from my life. I purchased a new mattress this last week in hopes that will help. It hasn't been delivered yet so the benefit of the $1400 expenditure is out for now. I found this back brace online at Amazon.com which is large enough...XXXL...to fit me. I'd been convinced I'd never find one big enough! It was delivered a couple of hours ago. I put it on and it's like getting out of jail! It's marvelous! My back isn't weak and doesn't hurt. For now, anyway, I'm sold! Can't wait until tomorrow, in the cool of early morning, to go out to mow the lawn. With the weakness gone I'm sure it will be a pleasure again. I've always loved yard work! By the way, it's August here in Idaho and HOT, HOT, HOT...nearly 100 degrees every day. I have a sweating problem and was concerned about the belt being too hot. I've had it on for two hours and there is no problem yet. I'll see when I get more active mowing the lawn tomorrow! If you're built like me and have a weak/sore lower back, check this out. I don't think you'll be sorry! 9/3/13 I've been wearing this for several weeks and am still sold. My legs are still weak when I mow the lawn but my lower back is supported and braced so I feel secure. I bought a second one just to have if the first one is dirty and needs laundering. My new bed helps too even though I'd been skeptical about the expense of changing. A recent MRI shows me to have several bad discs which will need treatment. This brace and the new bed surely help! 5/14/14 I'm doing much better this year. I have little pain presently and can walk better. When I mow the lawn I put this brace on and go, go, go! I'm still sold on it! I'll be 70 the day after tomorrow...the beginning of OLD!!! HO..HUM!!!!!!!
