Alright, I think we all need to be honest with each other, so I'm going to get the ball rolling with a confession: the very first thing I did after pulling this lamp out of the plastic was lick my palm. DON'T LIE; I KNOW YOU DID IT TOO, JUST TO SEE HOW SALTY IT WOULD BE. (Answer: very...and unsettlingly tasty to a salt-lover like me.)* Taste notwithstanding, this is such a great lamp! I'm not especially concerned about the ions or whatever; I was just looking for some cool-looking task lighting to keep next to my bed - this lamp is perfect for that. The pink salt gives it a nice cozy glow, and the dimmer switch is very responsive and convenient. (In my photo, I have the brightness set to about half-power.) The construction of the lamp itself seems great too. It's certainly heavy-duty, and came well-packaged with clear, professional instructions that made me feel like I'd definitely picked a good product. I was a little worried after hearing about the salt lamp fires and subsequent recalls, so I really appreciated this company distancing its products from those right in the description. I can enjoy the warm orange light without worrying about going up in flames! There are about a bajillion salt lamps for sale on Amazon, and all I can say is I'm happy I picked this one! *For the record, I'm not actively eating my lamp, and don't suggest you do either.
