Buy this with no fears
I really struggled before buying this.
First, it had only one review so I was understandably hesitant but wasn't too worried because almost all of Sunny's bikes had great reviews.
What really made this difficult to purchase was the 7 lb flywheel. Everything you read says the heavier the flywheel the better which made sense but, everywhere you look the Keiser bikes are rated the best by far and they also have an 7 lb flywheel. No brainer right? If the bike that is consistently named number one has a nice copy for 1/3 the price then it should be easy correct? The problem was I couldn't find a single review on the Keiser bikes that told me why an 7 lb flywheel was suddenly better then a 50 lb flywheel. I literally scoured the ENTIRE INTERNET and finally found one review that explains it so I thought I would share that because there's some pretty scary stuff on the internet if you keep searching!
The 7 lb flywheel spins much faster then a traditional heavy flywheel creating centrifugal force which makes the flywheel feel like a heavy wheel at speed but starts and more importantly stops butter smooth.
I have tried several spin bikes in the past and never enjoyed the experience because I my opinion it didn't feel like a real road bike. Most spin bikes feel like a clunky mountain bike at 1st then slowly start to feel like a road bike once you are cruising. With this bike it just felt natural. More importantly unlike the 50 lb flywheel bikes, stopping the 7 lb flywheel was a breeze for both me and my wife and placed no strain on our fragile knees and we don't have to use the brake. Acceleration feels natural and smooth. I love "climbing" with this bike and the resistance is just right.
Yes the Keiser has a few more features that this doesn't and if one day I decide to compete in the Tour de France I might upgrade to the Keiser but considering that we are almost 50 now I think we would need to install the bike in a time machine!
Is the bike perfect? Almost. The placement of the bike computer mount makes it difficult to install a tablet later but I'm pretty resourceful so I'll figure something out.
One other complaint is the handlebar is crooked by a couple degrees. Yes it's annoying but I got over it pretty quickly when I realized that I bought this for 1/3 the price of the Keiser. I will reach out to the company and ask for a replacement handlebar mount and update this review later.
In the meantime buy this with confidence, your knees will thank you later.
