Even though this little guy works as promised, it only does the one basic stitch, which isn't ideal for hemming. It also doesn't go backwards, so it's hard to reinforce your stitching, especially since it only does straight stitch. Unfortunately for my needs I need the regular old full sized sewing machine. This is a great starter for really basic projects for kids.
