Much more reliable than wifi enabled camera we initially purchased
We had purchased a wifi enabled camera that seemed to be growing in popularity prior to the birth of our daughter; due to several instances where the camera would lose wifi (and the only way to reconnect is to play a loud noise on your phone to the camera--which inevitably woke up our baby!), in addition to poor alerts and notifications, we opted out of the wifi enabled camera and went with what had been initially recommended to us by our family members: the DXR-8 InfantOptics camera. Now that I have been able to compare the newer wifi enabled camera to the infant optics, I can say that I now have incredible piece of mind with this camera in terms of the sound and picture quality in addition to lack of reliance on wifi or phone battery. There is no "breathing monitoring" on this camera, however, when using the wifi enabled camera with "breathing monitoring", it was spotty and unreliable, providing little to no piece of mind. This camera is absolutely worth it and I would encourage anyone who is seeking a "wifi enabled" camera that notifies you through phone to NOT purchase that and use the infant optics instead, especially if piece of mind and reliable technology are important to you.
