I have been aluminum free for years and wanted to try something new, so I purchased Schmidt's' Rose Vanilla deodorant. First of all, I love the smell and since there is no aluminum it doesn't make your armpits smell funny. Not only does the smell last, it keeps you dry as well! Staying dry has been my main problem with going aluminum free. RASHES: Now, this deodorant is a little abrasive and can pull your skin when applying. I've read and seen the rashes but I do not believe it is due to the ingredients but the application. When you apply the deodorant it pulls the skin, creating micro-abrasions, then the deodorant get into all of those, what are essentially tiny cuts and your skin becomes irritated. I started to develop a rash myself but not until weeks later, so I knew IT WAS NOT AN ALLERGIC REACTION. I then figured out the micro-abrasion thing. So I took a 2 or 3 day break from using it, used an alternative deodorant during the day, applied a rash cream at night and washed my pits gently during those days, this allowed the abrasions to heal. After a few days I went back to using the Schmidt's but I now WARM IT UP WITH MY BLOW DRYER TO SOFTEN IT BEFORE APPLYING. I've been using this method for about a month and HAVEN'T HAD ANY MORE PROBLEMS. I strongly suggest you give it another try, using this method. I would hate for you to miss out on the best dang aluminum free deodorant there is out there! Believe me, I've spent tons of money trying numerous brands and Schmidt's has proven to be the best so far. I discovered SCHMIDT'S HAS A SENSITIVE SKIN DEODORANT LINE, so I just ordered the sampler of that. It claims to be "Smooth and creamy in texture, with natural magnesium. Formulated for sensitive skin." This may be the remedy to having to blow dry my deodorant in the morning! :) Good Luck, Stay Fresh and so clean, clean!
