I can say that the 5-Meal Pet Feeder works great for my two cats. I looked for a dispensing feeder that would feed two cats, but couldn't find any. Most are of the one-bowl-filler-up variety which does not work well for my two cats who aren't able to pace themselves. Also, a single feeder meant that my more aggressive cat (the one shown sleeping on the feeder in the photo) would shove out the other cat from getting any food from the single bowl. Purchasing two separate feeders was the way to go! These are significantly less expensive to order through Amazon. Petsmart sells the same item for $64.99, more than 2 times the Amazon cost. It is also accurate that the first bowl is always "open" so doesn't really count as the fifth meal. It is really a feeder that allows you to program in 4 feedings. So far, I'm finding the timers quite accurate. They open up within 10 seconds of each other and haven't gotten off schedule when compared to my kitchen wall clock. Don't forget to order 4 D-cell batteries with the unit!
