I found a way to make this REALLY WORK and I want to share it. There was a time when I used Derma Bond a surgical glue that I had access to. It was very similar to Vetbond but THICKER. It was a bit easier to apply and stayed where I put it. I get cracked finger tips in the winter. When Vetbond arrived I tried to apply it but it ran all over and never really covered the crack in the end of my thumb. I thought about the whole thing for over a week and finally I realized that the product doesn't stick to plastic since it's in a plastic container. So I poured a small amount in a bottle cap and dipped the tip of my thumb in the Vetbond. I pulled my thumb out and let that dry and continued to do this until I had a good coating on the split in the skin of the tip of my thumb. Then I held it till it was really dry. Now I have a good coating on the split and it will be able to heal. It's flexible and I can work with my thumb without it spliting the crack more and being painful. I hope this helps others with the application of Vetbond and I'm going to keep it on hand from now on.
