There are 47 cds in this box set. The cds are housed in cardboard sleeves that are like little LP covers. The cds are not individually shrink-wrapped. Unfortunately that is the way cds and dvds are packaged a lot of the time, just slipped into cardboard. I would have prefered digi-packs. Oh well. All the 2LP sets are 2cds except for Self-Portrait which is 1 cd. It's CD cover opens like the old LP set, as do all the other 2cd sets' covers. The box is very sturdy. It says 14 cds are newly remastered but it's actually 15 including "Self Portrait" which was previously only available with the deluxe copy of Bootleg Collection #10. The 2 cd set of extra tracks, "Side Tracks" is also remastered. It includes all the tracks from "Biograph" that are not duplicates of LP/CD tracks, the six tracks from Greatest Hits II, One track from Greatest Hits III and a couple of others. Unfortunately it does not include "Rita Mae". The tracks on the 2 cds set are in chronological order. Speaking of chronological, you would need to listen to Basement Tapes after Blonde on Blonde and before John Wesley Harding and "Dylan" after Self-Portrait and before New Morning to hear them in order. For now, don't sell your old remastered copy of "Street Legal". It sounds much better than the copy in this box set. My guess is the copy in this box set is a remaster of the old original mix. The other digi-pack remaster is re-mixed and remastered and sounds much better than the copy in this box. The cover art for "Shot Of Love" does not list "The Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar", but it is on the disc. "Shot Of Love" is remastered. There was pre-sale discussion that it would not be, but it is beautifully remastered and "Every Grain of Sand" never sounded so good. Also in pre-sale discussions, someone said there was a glitch in their copy of "Self-Portrait" that they got with deluxe Bootleg Collection #10. There is nothing wrong with the "Self Portrait" cd with this box set. I wish it was digi-packs but it's still an awsome collection of music. Your Mono box is not obsolete because these are all stereo. The hardcover booklet is 255 pages and reproduces no lyrics (The LP/CDs never did) However it has all the poems from Dylan's LPs and the short story from the back of John Wesley Harding. It's a very nice booklet with photos and the last 40 or so pages written by Clinton Heylon. It's well constructed and has sewn binding. Added Dec 14: If you have a copy of Hard Rain with the 2 glitches, email the address Amazon provided and they will get right back to you. I sent them a copy of the Amazon invoice copied from "your orders" and then "invoices". I copied the invoice with the black border around it and pasted it into my email and no problem. They were great about getting another copy of Hard Rain out right away, no problem. I would not let that detract anyone from buying this set.
