I learned some tips I can share and might help other girls to make this pure henna to work the best. 1) mix henna powder with water (also a drop of hair oil can be added) and let it sit for 24 hours 2) apply henna on your hair evenly and let it cure for minimum of 2 hours. The henna is active when wet, once dried up you may wash it. Overnight was the longest time I have left it on, but the result was similar to a 4 hour wait 3) The next step is to wash the henna out from your hair with water only! Do not use any shampoo or conditioner. After rinsing off the hair with water completely, I usually apply mustard oil and work it gently into the hair. You may chose any hair oil, I was advised to use mustard oil and it worked for me. I purchased the mustard oil in an Indian store. The cost for a 32oz bottle is around $3.5 Leave in the mustard oil for next 24 hours, than wash the hair again. I usually wash my hair with sulfate free shampoo and sulfate free conditioner, removing the oil. Once the oils is off I use my regular products to blow dry the hair and to control frizz.
