Great Rollers, Great result!
Ignore the bad reviews. These are not your mother's old fashioned curlers or even the kind you used in high school. See how big the rollers are? They are the extra large and jumbo sized ones (which are usually harder to find in traditional rollers sets) and are designed to give soft, big, healthy looking body and waves..NOT defined curls that you can get with a curling iron or the smaller rollers found in the older type sets. Yes, the set is packed pretty tight. I assessed the situation and got a pair of kitchen shears to open the packing. It took me 3 minutes, people. DON'T get regular household scissors. You will break them or injure yourself. Just use common sense. The shears are bigger and work better. And yes, I do agree it was packed ridiculously tight, but I didn't pack it, so I don't have a say in that. For the people complaining about the rollers not heating up properly.... yes, the rollers must be on, just "so" to heat up, but they kind of "lock" into place, so you will know if they are on correctly or not. And they heat up pretty fast, in about 3-5 minutes, so it may take you some trial and error to know when they are correctly locked into place. The red dots on the top of the rollers turn white when ready. Easy. It has worked perfectly for me everytime. As for the rollers themselves... the flocking on the rollers prevent heat damage and give shine to your hair. And the clips are ok, not great, but Amazon or any beauty supply sells metal clips (if you prefer them) or better clips which are a bit more substantial and not as flimsy as the ones that come with the set. I have used rollers for years, so I can get by with the clips provided....and if you put them on correctly, they do not leave dents. Also, I disagree with all the people complaining that the rollers are soooo heavy..to that I say, wrap them tighter and correctly and you won't have that problem. They feel the same as any Conair set you would buy at Target. Here's what I do.... 1. Blow dry 2. Apply heat protectant...you can also do a light spritz of a setting lotion with a light hold or a light hair spray before you begin if you have a problem with your curl not lasting long 3. Wrap tightly and secure the clip coming from the back of the roller, gripping kinda "underneath" to secure..."Over direct" the hair and roll from the roots for more volume and a lighter, overall wave pattern OR wrap from ends to roots for a more pronouned soft wave. 4. I leave them in the whole time I am getting ready, sometimes up to 30-45 minutes, depending on what you are doing. A good way to tell they are completely cool...just see if the dots on the rollers are red again. Remember, the longer you leave them in, the longer your curl will last. 5. Carefully take them out and style. 6. Lightly spray with hair spray again if you wish, and enjoy your shiny pretty hair! You're good to go. Try them and practice with them. Go to you tube and look up "T3 hot rollers" for great tutorials....or just type in "hot rollers" to learn technique if you feel shakey with them. Like everything else hair related, if you want to get good, you have to practice. It took me a while to perfect my technique with rollers, and also with a clipless curling iron, but it's so worth it when you get the hang of it, and you KNOW you can do your hair yourself and look great. Good Luck!
