Ordered this Bluetooth OBD2 reader so I could monitor transmission and coolant temps on my 03 Ford Expedition 5.4L SUV. This unit plugged right in with no issues and hooked up to the Tourqe lite app with no problem. After verifying that it worked, I decided to buy the Tourqe Pro version of the app for about $5 and I am very happy with it. It works wonderfully with this Bluetooth unit. I have only two very minor ‘concerns’ that are nothing really, but I think it worth mentioning. One, is that the unit has a lot of blinking red/orange lights (can be seen in the pic near my knee) that some people may find annoying. The second thing is that the unit sticks out a few inches from the port it is plugged into, so it may or may not get bumped by your leg — especially if you have long-ass chicken legs like me. Admittedly it’s unlikely, but possible I think as I’ve come pretty close myself once or twice. As an aside, I had no issues at all with it during a recent 1300 mile trip up I-5 from California to northern Oregon and back. I specifically wanted to monitor my transmission and coolant temps while climbing the mountain passes. As can be seen in the picture, I was able to pull the Ashland grade southbound at about 70mph with a transmission temp of 168.8* and a coolant temp of 194.0* at the summit while running the A/C at 39* on a day when it was about 76* outside. Having this unit with the Tourqe Pro app, gave me great peace of mind as I drove along secure in the knowledge of my vehicles current real-time engine conditions; no more having to look at the stock gauges that are nearly useless! Knowledge is power! Thanks BAFX, Tourqe Pro and Ford for making solid products. ;)
