In my family of 3, we use an electric skillet a LOT -- usually2 or 3 times a day. We have tried all of the major brands, and some of the off-brands. THIS ELITE GOURMET SKILLET IS THE BEST ONE WE HAVE BOUGHT SO FAR. It is better in a few specific ways: 1. The skillet itself seems to have slightly thicker metal on the bottom compared to others , and it distributes the heat VERY evenly. It does not show a "hot circle" where the heating element is, like most others. 2. The non-stick coating works perfectly, and has not shown any discoloration at all. Most others develop hot spots, and eventually food will stick. 3. The sides of the skillet are maybe an inch taller than the others we have used. That is a great benefit if you are cooking with a lot of liquid, much less likely to spill splash out. 4. Nothing sticks to it, and it is VERY easy to clean.
