When I ordered this light, I thought I might give it to my niece, thinking she’d really like having a light she could use in so many ways. Let’s just say, I’m not so sure she’s going to get it now. I wasn’t sure what exactly I would use this light for, but as I’ve played around with it, there are all kinds of options. First of all, the light is powered by a microUSB/USB cable - so you can plug it in anywhere you have a USB outlet. It also comes with an adapter so you can just plug it into the wall. If these weren’t enough to get you excited (really, it’s the little things in life!), you can simply unplug and go cord free because there is a battery inside. You can take this little lamp ANYWHERE! Take it out back on the patio, by the pool, in the backyard, camping, to the workshop...the possibilities are endless. These possibilities go even further with the flexible neck - you can bend and twist and angle this light so it’s just right. It’s really nice when you want to concentrate the light on a particular spot like you would in a workshop or different hobbies. The light is nice and bright, with 3 different brightness settings. I’m quite happy with the amount of light this puts out. One of the other things I like about this light is the base. Of course, the first thing you notice is that it’s fun. How many other lights do you have that you can make just about any color with the swipe of a finger?!? This base is great to use as a night light, whatever color light choice you want. While I don’t need a night light per se, what I do love it for are those times when you wake up and need just a little bit of light but don’t want to go through the shock of turning on a light and waiting for your eyes to adjust, not to mention waking everyone in the room up (dogs think a real light means time to get up!). You can use this light to give you enough light to see, but not so much that you blind yourself. Having said that, I still like to just play with the base light sometimes. :) I apologize that my video doesn't pick up this color change better, you have to look more at the reflection of the light since my phone washed it out so badly. There are so many things I like about this light. You can power or charge from any USB port or wall outlet. It’s easily moved from place to place, especially when using the battery instead of the cord. The whole thing is really lightweight and you can fold the lamp arm down so it is more compact. The battery gives you a good amount of time, I think around 3 hours per charge, though I’m not positive if I’m remembering correctly. (I believe you get longer battery life if you use the main power button on the back of the unit to turn the light off when not in use or being transported, just don’t forget to turn it back on or you’ll think it’s dead.) The base lighting is a neat addition and can add a bit of soothing light to any dark spaces and the main feature, the LED light, is nice and bright and gives you plenty of light to work/read/compute by. I give this light two enthusiastic thumbs up. It does everything I expected and more, and is just a cool little light to have on hand. I received this light at a promotional price in order to test and assess the product. The price I pay doesn’t affect my review, as I review as if I paid full price for the item. I try to include the type of information I look for in reviews when I am researching my own purchases.
