A Great Table Top Grill...
Unfortunately, I was unable to purchase this grill through Amazon because I used a gift card that I had received for a brick & mortar store-- however, being an avid Amazon shopper, I will post this review to help others looking to purchase this grill. Just got done using this grill for the first time and I must say I'm very impressed! That's saying something considering I've used some pretty expensive full size grills in the past. But for condo dwellers or people who just want a quality grill for occasional cookouts --- this little baby is just the ticket. Sure there are cheaper tabletop grills out there, but with it's sturdy stainless steel construction, you know that it's going to last. Something that wasn't included in reviews that I read on this grill or in the product description might be a deal-breaker for some of you considering this grill. This grill, like other tabletop grills on the market, is made to be portable. It even has clips on the side of the lid made to lock it down so you can carry the grill by it's handle. But the difference is that most other tabletop grills are made to work with the small propane bottles often used for camping and you can purchase an optional hose kit to connect the grill to a standard 20 lb. propane tank. The Cuisinart Chef's Style Grill is made to be used strictly with a standard 20 lb. propane tank. In fact, a 36" long hose with regulator comes attached to the grill so all you have to do is hook it up to your propane tank. I'm not sure if Cuisinart makes an adapter so that you can use the small propane bottles or not, so if extreme portability is important to you then you might want to look at a different grill. But if you are grilling for a picnic or tailgating or using this on your patio or balcony then using a standard 20 lb. tank is probably not going to bother you. Some of the great features of this grill... + All stainless construction. Even the cooking grate is a thick stainless steel. There is a tray/drawer on the underside of the grill to catch grease and yes, it is stainless steel too! + Unlike most tabletop grills, this grill has 2 (not 1) burners giving you 20,000 BTUs of cooking power. You will be able to sear perfect steaks! +There are 2 stainless "flame tamers" (one over each burner) that keep the flames from flaring up and burning your meat. It seems that they also keep grease and debris from running off directly onto each burner--- preventing clogging and damage to the burners. + Built-in thermometer on lid of grill + Large cooking area equivalent to one of a small full-sized grill + 2 temperature control knobs featuring Cuisinart's twist-to-light technology which worked flawlessly-- no fireplace match needed to start the grill. And with 2 control knobs, you can cook using 1 or 2 burners and can cook on each side of the grill at different temperatures. + The 4 legs on the grill fold for easy storage or portability. If you're not sure about this grill-- get it. It is much nicer then Cuisinart's All Foods line of gas grills. Sure it's more expensive, but worth every penny.
