I haven't had this item long enough to know whether or not it works on bugs, but I'm going ahead and writing this review for those who are wondering about how it affects your pets. I have three dogs, four cats, 2 parrots, and a fish tank, and I was very concerned that the product would bother my little zoo, especially my dogs. I have one of those sonic bark trainers that emits a sonic noise that only dogs can hear, and my dogs absolutely HATE it - to the point that they cower in the corner if it's on at all. Needless to say, it pretty much stays off all the time. But, based on my experience with the sonic bark thingy, I was really nervous about using this pest repeller. But, my fears were unfounded, because my dogs do not react at all to it. It's probably nowhere near as loud as the bark control thingy, but as a human, I wouldn't know the difference. So, if you're wondering about your pets, they are probably going to be fine.
