So I’m not gonna lie i pushed this bag beyond what it was made to do. i wish i could give it a 4.5 star rating. I was taking it backpacking to test it for use as a long distance “get home bag.” In other words i over loaded it I had about 40-50lbs in it. Things i found with my experience. Negatives 1) the waist straps are a little short. I had to switch those out and add longer straps. I’m 6’3” 250lbs. I’ve got some belly. 2) The shoulder straps are a bit narrow and thin for heavy loads. They really dug into my shoulders. 3) I wish the molly loops on the side had a third loop column. Some items rig three wide as opposed to two and I feel a third loop would help Make it more versatile. (I’m a civilian so if this is the wrong terms just hang with me) Positives. 1) Molly loops EVERYWHERE. This system allowed me to hook all kinds of stuff onto it. 2) QC was spot on. There was not a faulty seam, zipper, buckle, or any other flaw to be seen. 3) the owner upgraded my shipping to priority for free. (Best of luck to you and your family. Also thank you for your service) 4) No rain penetrated this bag. It kept everything inside nice and dry. 5) Compression straps everywhere. I was really able to compress this bag down so nothing shifted at all. 6) No rips after 5 days in the woods going through rain, snow, and sleet. While it was overloaded. Improvement ideas 1) Add some loops in the CC compartment for spare mags. 2) Make the shoulder straps wider and slightly thicker so it’s more comfortable to carry heavier weighs. 3) Extra column of molly loops on the sides. 4) Make waist straps a bit longer for us fat people. Also it would help skinner people in winter when they are wearing bulky coats. Overall It’s a great bag and I’d recommend it to anyone. If those improvements where made this would be an EASY 5 star.
