Being a Pc technician for 15 years,i have seen cheap bad pcs and some cheap good pcs, well this is a good one for the price,it performs really well for day to day use,web browsing, emails, documents, etc etc.
Compared to my lenovo ultrabook well its no rival but keep in mind the price and the hardware limitations and you can understand why ,people are giving 1 star, you cant compare the performance of a high end pc with an entry level pc there will be a big difference by default.
The good stuff
Battery duration is good
keyboard feedback is good
its light and just 3mm thicker than my ultrabook
Simple design
touchpad works great, but is not a polished pad ,those pads works better
Integraded BT and type N wifi works great
Silent operation
The not so good stuff
plastic atracts your body oils so it will be some spots in darker color (i recommend a non silicone plastic safe dressing or just a simple microfiber towel with a dab of baby oil and rub it on all surfaces, that will take care of darker spots)
loaded with some crappy softwares ( constant freeze cause is the dell update software, dell digital distribution and face recognition software, get rid of them they are memory drainers)
lack of status lights
So if you dont like the simple performance of this laptop you can do 2 simple upgrades and have a much better pc.
1. upgrade to a 4gb memory
2. upgrade to a ssd drive
My final tought
If you want a high end for $200 well look elsewhere this not the one
If you want an every day simple PC with good performance this is it,if you want to make it a better pc then just do those 2 simple upgrades if you can find those parts cheap and you can do it yourself.
if you cant do the upgrades by yourself and cant find the parts are a low price dont invest money then, look elsewhere and get another pc with the specs you want.
