My 16 pound bichon poodle fits better in the XL bag; we had originally puchased the Large. In the picture the left (green) is the Large bag- this fits the dimensions for underneath the seat on airplanes. The XL is larger than the dimensions and does get a few comments from workers "I don't know if that will fit under the sit," to which I always show them how it collapses and conforms to the space allotted. In the picture the right SturdiBag (Blue bag) is the XL one. As seen in the picture both fit under the seat on a Boeing 737-700 on Southwest Airlines.
