Yes, long ago and far away, I went through a "pioneer woman" phase and did a lot of sprouting at that time. But life intervened, and I left the farm for other persuits. Suddenly I'm retired, and cleaning out kitchen cupboards when I find my 40-year old sprouting kit. We all know that 40 years is plenty of time to forget what you knew, but I decided that since alfalfa sprouts have become one of those vanishing products at all of my handy supermarkets why not try to sprout my own? Now bear in mind that the last time I sprouted anything, the Internet didn't exist. So I came to Amazon, searched "alfalfa seeds for sprouting", made a totally random choice from the results, and ended up with this product. I have nothing to compare it to, quality wise, or even price wise. I just had a bee in my bonnet about wanting alfalfa sprouts and this is where the Universe led me. My seeds arrived two days after placing my order...very fast. I imediately started soaking some in water and the next morning spread them out out in my sprouter and covered them with a damp towel. That's when my memory started getting a little fuzzy. I was about to start looking for instructions online, when I noticed one of those funny emails with a bunch of letters and numbers as the sender---the kind I'd been well trained by my daughter to delete without opening. But for some reason I opened it instead. (I swear the Universe made me do it!) And that's when I made my big discovery: When you buy your alfalfa seeds for sprouting from this Amazon seller, you also get the added bonus of our man, Todd. Now it seems that above all else, Todd lives to make customers happy. His first email was just a friendly follow up to make sure your seeds arrived in good condition and in a timely fashion. He even signed his name...not something generic like "your customer service team"...but there it was, a real name. Todd. If you're audacious enough to hit the "reply" button, there's actually a place to write back...which I did, and the very next day I got a reply answering my questions and responding to what I'd written in such a way that I knew he'd actually READ my email Now, I don't know about you...yes YOU... the one reading this review... but I'm just old enough to value having a real person to respond to me in a personal way, even if it's through an impersonal medium like the internet and email. Am I a happy camper? Of course. I've quickly evolved a nice little rhythm and have sprouts going in staggered phases so that as I finish eating one batch, the next is ready to use. This meant adding a new, more modern sprouter to the rotation, and of course I followed Todd's advice in choosing which one to buy. But that's a seperate review. The bottom line here is the customer service...Todd...that you're going to get along with seeds ordered from this site. This is worth more than the 5 star limit on Amazon's rating system. I'm about ready to buy more seeds, and this time I think I'll go ahead and get the larger bag!
