I LOVED the second-half of season 1, well worth the frustrating first half!!!!
The first half of the season was frustrating because Star Trek philosophy was less prominent than romantic relationships. The second half of the season philosophically crushed it--asking "what makes us human" in some awesome ways.
I love romance as a genre, don't get me wrong. I appreciate gay couples portrayed well. There is twice as much kissing, gay and straight kissing, in this season than any other season of Star Trek ever, why?
How does a Vulcan raised human have more emotional expression than other characters?
