I live in an apartment complex with 3 kids (4 if you count the hubs) and this has worked wonders. It's saved me money at the laundromat and it gets my clothes super clean. It IS a little loud, not as loud as a normal washer but you know its there. I place it in my bathtub and use a bucket to fill it because its faster and I didn't have the appropriate connecting piece on my sink. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of a small hole in the drain hose but I have it in my bathtub so I never bothered the company. Would definitely reccomend to a friend (and I have!).
