I bought this cleaner to vacuum dust and small particles from items such as keyboards, calculators and models. To improve suction: 1) Open the cleaner by twisting it (as explained on the box), 2) Remove the grey plastic flap at the front (serves no useful purpose and impedes air flow), and 3) Remove filter covering fan (again serves no useful purpose as cleaner is too weak to suck in much more than dust and small particles, and impedes air flow). And as indicated, make sure to use fresh alkaline batteries, not rechargeable ones. I was pleased with the difference it made. Update: I have been using the cleaner regularly. It does well what it's supposed to do: vacuum dust and small particles. When done, open it and blow it clean. It's that simple.
