Intense--not everything is factual (I spent every summer going to the Wind River Rez) and they are some of the most patriotic folks in the US. Their Sun Dance lodge is flanked by two American flags and at powwow the veterans are the first ones out dancing. Think it's important to point that out b/c I've never seen a shredded US flag hanging upside down as depicted in the film. Most of the film is shot in Utah and not in Wyoming which is unfortunate b/c the Wind River Range is absolutely stunning and mystifying. However, the story tugs at your heart and that's why I felt compelled to buy it after seeing it in the theatre. It's a reminder that the Native Americans still live a hard life after everything they've endured in their past. If anything, I hope this film will remind Americans that we have issues in our own backyard that are being completely ignored.
