I have to say that these two are intelligent, hilarious and such great companions to share in the journey of exploring the land and history of Scotland. From the moment I heard about this project, I was excited because I'm a history enthusiast myself. There is nothing I love more than being able to learn vicariously through the eyes of people who are natives to the land. I'm not at all surprised that two men, who are both very intelligent, articulate and witty, would eventually write a book, but I didn't expect them to do it together! The best part of this one is their antics and the deep love they both have for history and Scotland. We recently discovered my husband is hailing from this beautiful country, rich in tradition and the gorgeous kilt, so the history was particularly interesting to me. This book is lovely and the forward is absolute perfection. In honesty, I don't think I've been more excited over a waiting for a book... Well, except for my autographed hardcovers of the Outlander books... :0) In a year of personal pain and loss, I'm so grateful to have had the chance to travel with these two characters and laugh my way though one fantastic read. They had me laughing on page one. My one wish is that I'll find a way to have this one signed, too. Sam and Graham, thanks to you both for providing the highlight of my year. I laughed until it hurt watching your interviews and the book was everything I hoped for and more! Cheers! P.S. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a volume 2!
