We have a smart TV and watch more streaming services, so it just wasn't worth paying for cable any more. Before purchasing this HDTV antenna, I checked online to see approximately how many free channels we would receive in our area, which was more than I expected. This antenna is THIN, LIGHTWEIGHT and EASY to install. It also includes an amplifier, which I didn't need, and some hanging tabs. It's black on one side and white on the other, so either side can be displayed. Instructions advise against putting it behind the TV; however in my case doing so resulted in better reception and more channels than placing it up high by a window as recommended. After performing the channel scan via the tv settings, we get about 51 channels, but some are repeats. Image quality is very clear on the major broadcast channels, decent on the others, and poorest on the major shopping channels. I also tested this antenna on my son's TV upstairs and it works just as well, so I'm buying one for his room too. I'm kicking myself for not make the switch sooner and thinking about all the money we could have saved.
