ONE POT WONDER !
Well after having the lodge 12" C.I. skillet and the 5 qt dutch oven & we all know how this stuff gets better with use ! I now use this 7 qt dutch oven for everything. All of my stove top cooking is really done in this. Anything like pork, chicken, roasts, ect go in this and in the oven. I like the high sides they keep the splatter mess down on the stove top and give you plenty of room when using it in the oven. Now I looked long and hard at the 9 qt but with a smaller family, 3 of us I did not feel I needed the larger 9 qt. I like the handles & not sure how I would feel about the bail wire set up on the 9 qt. People said the 9 qt is really heavy too which may be a pain when it comes time to rinse wash it in the sink and I like to wipe mine down with my crisco rag and simply heat it back up on the stove until it smokes a little bit then shut it off to cool. Thats how I reseason. This 7 qt size is nice to move around from sink to stove , were I think the larger 9qt could be a pain. Also I wanted to mention the Lodge 12" tempered glass lid fits like a champ on this 7 qt. its a must have ! SKU:GC12 Yeah so I sold my 5qt dutch oven as it was a bit to small and even though it was a little small I liked it more then my 12" lodge skillet for stove top cooking, love the high sides on the dutch ovens. So anyway I sold the 12" skillet too. Now my go to is this Lodge 7qt and it gets a lot of cook time. I hope this review helps folks
