I decided that for a winter project I would convert my CDs to MP3 in a more organized fashion. Previously, I had a DVD/CD burner from 10+ years ago that seemed to work nicely then all the sudden it wasn't recognizing some CDs, especially ones that I recently ripped. I figure it was the old optical drive, so I took the plunge and got a new one. I use this with my 2017 MacBook Pro 13" with the latest OS. All I can say is it works flawlessly and every CD is being recognized. My only gripe is a trivial one and the cord from the drive to the USB hub is somewhat shorter than I hoped. After 50+ CDs being ripped all is going great. The drive is more streamlined than the old one and much lighter. In fact, the old optical drive required an external power supply and this one doesn't. Right now I am using the drive as I write this review. Next to no complaints, highly recommended.
