Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I read all the negative reviews and took them into consideration before purchasing this garbage can. Here are the three top areas that were negatively reviewed in comparison to what I received: 1) Came dented: While this could happen to anybody with anything shipped to their home, it was not the case for me. Upon unpacking I conducted a thorough inspection of the garbage can and there were no dents, scratches or damage of any kind. It looked brand new and in perfect condition out of the well packaged box! 2) Have to use custom liners: This is just a false statement. While Simple Human garbage cans do have custom made liners that fit each of their garbage cans perfectly, you are not limited to just these liners. A normal Glad 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bag fits perfectly in this can. I have the liners that came with it, but will continue to use the Glad bags that I have always purchased and used. What's really nice is I don't have to stretch the bag a lot to fit it on, and the top covers the edges of the bag perfectly. Even if you fill the garbage all the way up, you are left with enough room on the liner to tie it off or even add a little more garbage. 3) The lid doesn't stay open on its own: There are 2 "lids" and I am not sure which one they are talking about, so I will discuss both. The top of the can opens up so that you can replace the liner. As you're opening the top it feels like it comes to a stop and then you can simply push it past the pressure point which holds the top open while you remove and replace the garbage bag. The lid itself, the one used for opening to put garbage in, does not stay open on its own. Once you let off the pedal the lid starts to slowly close on its own. This is not a problem for me as I just keep my foot on the pedal as along as I need the lid open. This would have been more of an issue if the top didn't stay open while changing the bag, but it does. In summary this is a great Garbage can that you can use whatever liners you want and looks amazing in a kitchen that has stainless steal appliances. We are extremely happy with this garbage can and just can't say enough good stuff about it. If you are one of the unfortunate ones that gets a dented can, send it back, Amazon's return policy is awesome and easy to use!
