Never squat with this!
First off I should say that no one should ever use this or any other pad for back squats. When squatting, the bar should never be on your neck to begin with. That’s why they don’t call them neck squats. The bar should be on your back. It should be resting on your shoulders/traps. Never your neck! And if you’re squatting with the bar on your back, chances are you’ll never need this pad!
So what would you use this for? There are still a few good reasons to use this. For example, I use it for hip thrusts. It stays in place and I don’t get all bruised up from hip thrusts anymore. For that, it works really well.
Just know that, if you’re doing back squats and the bar hurts your neck, then you’re doing it wrong, and this won’t fix that problem. Adding a pad won’t take the stress off your upper spine from improper bar placement.
