I have read the reviews for this set (some good, some horrible) but as a musician and a fellow drummer, i'm here to spill the facts. First of all, if you are looking at this product than you're either starting out, or you have a tight budget at the moment (my case). Let's begin with the drums themselves, not the hardware. The total price of this set is around $190 (plus shipping). That is still an amazing deal just for the shells and heads. No they are not maple or mahogany or whatever wood you think is the best, but it is sturdy and gets the job done. That said, be happy that there are full size drum shells for this price. Now for the hardware. Yes, it is light weight and "cheap", but who can say no to free stuff. These peices will do untill you feel confident that you want to expand and upgrade your hardware. If you decide to embark on the journey of professional drumming, then you should upgrade your hardware and drum heads. Overall this is an amazing price for starting out fresh with endless possibilities to expand. Be happy if you purchase this, because you will never find a better deal for this. Plus, my hardware is still perfect, but the cymbals are for practice only (dont expect Zildjian, just something to train with till the time is right. Overall amazing deal.
