We had been looking for a gas fireplace to put on our screen in deck and came across this one. We did not want anything large and this one worked out well. We first bought a small table top fireplace that used the same sized propane tank as this one. It went back the next day as made too much noise. It's sounded like a camping stove and not the effect we were after. This one is quiet, and only hear the flames flickering. On the lowest setting the flames are about four inches and flicker around. On high, the flame is about eight inches high, and does not flicker as much since it's more peaked. The low setting is exactly the effect we wanted and that was something to watch while sitting outside on a fall day. It does put out some heat, although I would not recommend buying it to sit outside and stay warm on a cold night as it's more for ambiance. I uploaded several pictures of the actual product so you can see it first hand. It did arrive with a few nicks in it, and there is a small brush with touch up paint. Update: 7/20/2015 - We have had it for almost a year and still like it. No problems with it working. I see the ability to finally upload pictures and adding five to the review. They show an actual picture of it, burning low flame, burning high flame, inside where propane tank is mounted, and the black fire glass included.
