"I haven't wiped out on a bike since I was like 12," I told myself right before buying this. "My old one is fine," I thought. A couple weeks ago my spouse told me to just man up and buy a new one because I bike so much, and I listened, and I'm so glad I did. The neighborhoods around us were being freshly paved, so there was a ton of loose gravel leftover. I hit a lip and and stones today on my road bike and flew off my seat. As my head hit the pavement, I felt the whole shell of the helmet vibrate and absorb the impact. I never write reviews, but I'm writing one today because I still have a brain with which to do so. No neck pain, no head pain, no problems. I tore up the left side of my shoulder and leg but it's nothing considering I was able to bike a few miles home with an intact skull. Buy your head size up if you have to, because it's nice and snug, but do buy this helmet.
