Good quality item that does as promised.
I'm trying to help a stray cat survive rural Minnesota winters that are cold and unforgiving. Midwinter (2010-2011) I realized a stray cat was living in a canvas shed used to store miscellaneous gear. I'm not a "cat lover;" but that winter was brutal, and it was obvious the cat was struggling to survive. I began to feed it on my back deck and tried to coax it into the house, but the cat was leery of humans. I kept feeding the cat through the summer and fall, but it's feral and refuses to come closer to me than six feet. This winter (2011-2012) has been milder than most, but a mild Minnesota winter is still deadly. Unable to coax the cat into my house, I bought this heated outdoor unit on the chance that the cat would use it, though I had serious doubts it would let itself be confined. To my great relief, the cat began to use it after a few weeks of getting used to its presence. The cat spends every night in the house, and I'm not as worried as I've been about the cat freezing to death. In fact, other feral cats also use the house. This product has done everything I hoped it would do, and I am grateful to its manufacturers. The house is well made and easy to assemble (zippers and Velcro). I keep it under the eve on my back deck where it sits on bricks that rest on the decking material - a precaution against fire and a way to keep it dry. I am perfectly comfortable recommending this product to anyone wishing to keep their cat - at least somewhat - protected from the cold.
