I just received this microwave and haven't even used it yet. But meantime I want to thank all consumers who kept questioning the height of this unit and those who responded. As the former owner of two Spacemaker II microwaves, I like many others was looking for the replacement for those models, which fit into a space of 24Wx12DX12H. I actually built a free standing cupboard with these dimensions assuming there would always be a comparable model available. When this model came out, the height was given as 12-7/8 inches. I kept searching for a microwave that would fit and ran across many consumers asking for the same thing. Responses from GE actually said things like "you will have to modify your cabinet" to fit the new model. I ordered another smaller model, and it looked ridiculous in the space. Then I ran across the Q&As here and was surprised to see that actual owners had measured the height as 11-7/8, a full inch shorter than what the item description stated. I gave it a shot, ordered it, and lo! and behold! it fits as thought the space were made for it. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for solving my microwave dilemma! (This experience highlights the importance of answering a customer's concern when Amazon forwards a question to you.)
