Needed a dress for a gala event where attire was "cocktail". I am sort of a hermit so this loomed as an ordeal. Looking up cocktail, I saw short dresses with bling and lowcut necklines, backless, sleeveless, terrifying. Fabric of this dress has a nice medium-weight drape, is of terrific quality, super flattering. The waist is just slightly empire, so any little imperfections ahem are quite well disguised. I bought the navy, which is a deep rich true navy and looked far more expensive than this dress's price. Because this was a last-minute purchase, I wore it with dumpy black work pumps but it would look terrific with metallic sandals. I got more compliments on it than I would ever have imagined. Amazon came through with next day delivery and what I had feared would be a nervous uncomfortable evening turned out to be sublime. Highly recommended. This will be a wardrobe safety device in case I ever get invited to a country club gala again; however it is not so "cocktail" that it couldn't go to other events such as weddings and office holiday parties.
