We've had this product for about 3 years, and absolutely love it. We live on a fairly busy street, and even though we have a fenced in back yard, our schnauser always found a way to get out. We even tried a screw type of stake in the back yard however, within a month, he figured out how to unscrew it from the ground. After that, we used the same steel cable to attach him to the garage, he somehow snapped the cable! It was when we went looking for him after the cable snap, that we saw him down the street, crossing the street directly in front of a car! Our hearts both jumped and we decided right then and there that since nothing else had worked, we were going to get an electric fence. We went to our local Menards, and found the SD-2000. It was on sale, so we went ahead and got it. Now, don't let anyone fool you, putting this thing in is no easy chore. It took us a few days to bury the wire for it. However, once that hard work was out of the way, everything else has been great! In less than two weeks of following the instruction DVD, our 2 year old pup was completely trained! He hasn't tried to leave the yard since! Without this product, we feel almost certain that we would have experienced the tragedy of finding our dog in the middle of our street.
