My son is 5 years old and has suffered from major teeth problems resulting in 3 extractions and multiple fillings in 50% of his remaining teeth. I know, bad parenting... I would think that as well... the problem is that I actually floss and brush his teeth, EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am not kidding, I loathe it, but I do it. We fight about it every day, but I do it anyway. He doesn't drink juice, eats a balanced diet, brushes after every meal, uses a flouride rinse... all to no avail. My pediatric dentist finally clued me in on some alternative ways to remedy teeth problems, especially for those who have acidic mouths where traditional methods don't work. He also explained how teeth issues can be related to sinus and ear infections (which my son also suffered from), because bad bacteria basically overtakes your system. The first suggestion was to start using Xylitol (natural sugar from birch tree), which essentially keeps the bad bacteria in the mouth from multiplying because it cannot digest the sugar and then to consider an oral probiotic (with BLIS K12 & M18). He told me that studies of both of these products have shown improvements in oral health and may reduce sinus and ear infections. So I began to investigate. And investigate. And investigate. I bought Icebreakers gum (one of the only big brand ones that has Xylitol in it), bought Sensodyne toothpaste from the U.K. containing Novamin (remineralizes teeth - look it up!!! It's not available in the U.S.) and started my son on NatureWise Oral Health probiotics, which were a great price versus similar products ($14.99 for 50 tablets). While I cannot for sure say that I have remedied his teeth (I will certainly find out at the next 6 month cleaning), I have noticed that my son no longer has the mouth-breather look on his face caused by sinus congestion and we have not had a single issue with colds or ear infections since starting this regimen. As an experiment, I began taking the NatureWise Oral Health probiotic, because I have suffered debilitating nasal congestion and bad breath (I assumed from post nasal drip) since 2012 and have been forced to use Afrin every day just so that I can partially breathe through my nose... (which is terrible because it causes Afrin "addiction" and rebound congestion). My doctors were never able to solve my sinus problems and nothing else worked (saline, netti pots, Flonase, Claritin, Zyrtec, etc). I even moved across the country and was hoping that the sinus problems were related to an environmental allergy... but they were not, because I still suffered at the new location. Enter NatureWise Oral Health probiotic... after about 2 weeks of this product, I have not had to touch Afrin. My sinuses are clear... I can breathe fully and no longer have sinus congestion... after 4 years of painful suffering, I finally feel normal again and healthy. And, of course, on top of it, it has helped with the bad breath issue. *I normally write reviews on all of my Amazon purchases anyway... but I should mention that NatureWise did include a flyer in my shipment saying they would send me a free bottle of probiotics by posting a review... I have not applied for that offer yet, but intend to.
