I bought the Kamenstein and the Old Thompson designs because I wanted the different spices from each (there were 8 doubles between the two and 8 originals). I really love the Kamenstein over the Old Thompson for the for the following reasons. 1. The Kamenstein spins cleanly where the Old Thompson sticks a little.It's not a big deal to me, but may be to some. 2. The caps on the Kamenstein are the kind that you push down on one side to choose shake or pour. The Old Thompson are the kind you have to use your fingernail to lift up. A pain when just needing a quick spice. 3. The Kamenstein offers free spice refills for 5 years.
