Great Accessory to the Headset!
One of the biggest complaints I have had with hands-free earpieces is what to do with them when you aren't using them. How do you transport them, carry them, etc. when not in use (i refuse to walk around with a Bluetooth earpiece hanging on my ear all day long)? I have owned a variety of earpieces over the years (mostly from the Plantronics line), and have always struggled with storing them without damaging them. The most recent earpiece I owned from the Plantronics line was the Voyage 975, and it comes with a storage case that doubles as a portable charger...just like this one. Unfortunately my Voyager 975 didn't last too long, and I had to send it back on 2 occasions to Plantronics (customer service is great by the way). The problem with that solution was the docking mechanism was still a stub micro-USB connector that you had to fit exactly right for the earpiece to dock. On my second Voyager 975, the connector in the earpiece broke. On my first Voyager 975, the connector on the case itself broke. On that particular model, charger with a case concept was a very good idea, just not durable. My newest earpiece was the Motorola Sliver which has a very small form factor, extremely comfortable, and a charger / case combo unit. This is a very well executed case/charger combination using a conductive type of charge. However, the earpiece itself is, although comfortable, not very good. Everyone I have called has a hard time hearing me. I decided to go after the Plantronics Voyage Legend because I have had mostly good luck with Plantronics. My only hesitation was that it didn't have a case, until I saw this little goody. A storage case and portable charger in one (like the Motorola Sliver) that stores and protects the Voyage Legend earpiece. This is a very nice implementation! The case is simple, yet provides everything you need. It is about the size of a deck of cards, uses conductive charging through magnets (the magnets also hold the earpiece securely in the case), and has 2 indicator lights - battery status of case & battery status of earpiece. Simple! According to the specs, this is supposed to charge your earpiece an additional 2 times (14 hours of talk time total). I have used this for about 3 weeks now, and I have seen that this is accurate. If you have purchased the Voyager Legend earpiece, this is a must-have item. It provides a very nice protective case, and will keep your earpiece charged and ready for when you need it. No need to carry a power source with you for weekend trips anymore! My only complaint is that I wish Plantronics offered this as a combo to buy with the earpiece itself.
