For a few years I didn't purchase an antenna as our household just used Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime for video, and I didn't think an antenna would give good reception. Then I purchased this antenna to assist in watching NFL games and I was amazed at the quality of over-the-air reception on my HDTV. I affixed it to my wall behind my tv rather than a window and it works great. I experimented with different positions until I found the correct location. I was considering purchasing the black model instead as I thought it would be positioned on the television stand, however the reception was much better attached to a wall up higher so i'm glad i purchased the white version as it matches the wall fairly well. My house is 23 miles from the main television towers. I purchased the 50 mile version and it's fantastic.
