Great for my creaky joints!
I am an older guy in my late 60's. I am a big proponent of supplements and healthy living. At age 68, I still have all my teeth, all my hair - which is snow white as I don't believe in hair coloring and just being a natural person - and my blood pressure sticks around 110/65 without any drugs. So, I am pretty healthy. However, as an old guy, my joints have started to bother me. They are stiff a lot and creaky and when I am doing something, I get pains now and then that tell me they are protesting whatever I am doing. So, I am always poking around the Internet looking for ways to relieve various symptoms of things. Boswellia came in front of me in one of my searches as an anti-inflammatory herb that was good for the joints. I have heard of it but never really looked into its properties or uses. One of the interesting things I discovered about Boswellia is that is is also known as frankincense. Yes, the same stuff that has been burned as incense in religious and cultural ceremonies for centuries. Another benefit is that it appears to have a potential anti-cancer capability as evidenced in experiments with mice. In fact, the more I read about it, the more I decided I needed to try it. I am not one of those people who take an herbal supplement and expect immediate results. I take them for the long term - mostly to head off future problems. I have had colon cancer back in 1997 and am still around. But cancer is scary, so anything I can do to protect myself against a recurrence or new cancers is of high interest to me. So, the anti-cancer thing is a big plus as a protector. However, if you google Boswellia and you start reading about all the things Boswellia is supposed to be good for, it begins to make you wonder how much is hype and how much is fact. It is hard to believe that this stuff can be used to treat: arthritis, diarrhea, dysentery, ringworm, boils, fevers (antipyretic), skin and blood diseases, cardiovascular diseases, mouth sores, bad throat, bronchitis, asthma, cough, vaginal discharges, hair loss, jaundice, hemorrhoids, syphilitic diseases, irregular menses and liver stimulation. Whew! What a list. Not sure I believe all that hype. Happily, this seller does not make all those claims but just concentrates on the joint benefits. I am interested only in the anti-inflammatory benefits and, what I have read about the supposedly anti-cancer benefits in other publications. So, that is why I decided to try it. I picked this brand because it doesn't have junk ingredients, like magnesium stearate or silicon dioxide which seems to be in most supplements on the market. It also is made in America - that is a big plus for me! So, I ordered it and have been taking it since January 12 (2015). So, some of my aches and pains that bothered me up to now include my ankles and knees and a little in my wrists. I do not have arthritis - just what I call "creaky" joints that bother me sometimes when the humidity is high or "just because" it is time for mother nature to crab at me. Whatever the reason, it bugs me now and then. I have been taking this regularly for 20 days and I can really tell the difference. My joints don't bother me nearly as much as they did. I have gone days without even thinking about any aches and pains - a first for a long time. So, this stuff appears to agree with me and I will continue taking it from now on. Like I said, this brand is made in America and has a lot going for it, so this is my brand from now on.
