Bought this for my mother, who had trouble reading her other digital thermostat. She LOVES this. The display is clear, large and easy to read. It's easy to set up and schedule. She also loves that she can use her iPhone to control it. The heat pump is very responsive to the app. Couldn't be more pleased with the product. Not good was the Amazon Services installation ordered with it. The installer showed up equipped with not much more than a pocket screwdriver. This thermostat needs a fifth Common wire, which was not on her old thermostat. She did, however, have a few other unused wires behind the old thermostat. The Amazon installer said they weren't connected to anything, but didn't really do much more than a cursory glance at the heat pump and determined I had to hire someone else to do it, if it could even be done at all without running new wire down to the thermostat. We hired a tech from an actual HVAC company, to install an Add-A-Wire kit and install the thermostat. He determined the Add-A-Wire wasn't needed—just connect the unused wires up at the heat pump. He was right. Worked like a charm without having to use the kit. Disappointed in the Amazon Services for sending someone who was ill-equipped for the job, or rather minimally-qualified to handle anything other than the most basic installation. I had that much expertise, but ordered the service because I thought it might require more than basic knowledge. Amazon did not charge for the non-installation, which was good.
