Honestly, don't laugh, but I bought this tape to keep my 4 mo old kitten from scratching my furniture. I needed something stronger and less expensive than the cellophane double stick "cat deterrent" tape they sell at the pet store, as it has to be replaced often. This tape is working very well, my kitten hates it, and it stays put longer than the other tape. As for use on carpets, I couldn't say, but it's great at keeping kitty from clawing up my furniture. Thanks!
