I have an office in my home for a small business my wife and I own. I have four printers and 3 computers in my office. I purchased this printer to replace the Brother MFC-7820 which is still going strong. The Brother is my go to printer for almost everything. The only reason for the replacement is that the MFC-7820 does not support Windows 8 except as a printer and I use this it as a multi-function machine. I saw the "coming soon" on this MFCL2740DW and I ordered it on the day it was available for sale in the US.It arrived a week later. It wasn't available on PRIME.:( (I would have received it 3 days earlier, but FedEx required a signature even though this was not required on the order.) The new printer has almost the exact same footprint as my old one. Setup was fast and I set it up using the wireless network instead of the wired connection available on the old printer.Both are available which is a nice feature. The printer connected easily and immediately. The color touch screen is a nice addition although a slightly larger screen would be nice. The color screen is much easier to read than the outgoing LCD screen. So far, I love it. the scanning is much faster when doing High Res color (600dpi), both sides too, without my intervention, print quality is excellent and it prints on both sides of paper. I have mine set in the quiet mode which is slightly slower, but I can carry on a phone conversation in my small office while printing and the print speed is still fast. There are two choices of toner cartridges. The high yield is slightly higher than other Brother cartridges with the same capacity ($58 on Amazon for the high yield 2600 page TN660) I found as price of $33 for the 1200 page TN630 cartridge if your office does not print as many pages. I haven't tried printing from my Android device yet. I do have the app just no time to try it yet. The only con I have found is that some parts do not seem as robust as the older printer like the paper drawer and other plastic parts. It seems durable enough and time will tell. I am expecting that this printer will be as reliable as my last one and will be around for a long time, After all, it is a Brother!
