UV-C light actually works on this device, which is the most important part.
I was very hesitant to getting this initially, especially after reading about one user who mentioned the on/off safety mechanism which prevents you from being able to turn the light on unless the cap was screwed on. Well coming from an engineering background, I figured this was as easy thing to get around, and it was. The major issue that I had to overcome was validating whether or not this was using an actual UV-C light emitting diode, or if this was just a blue light being pawned off as UV-C, or if it was just a blacklight though cool to look at does absolutely nothing for killing germs and bacteria. Only recently has there been cheap consumer methods to test actual UV-C, and we all know there are fake items out there. This one is legitimately using a UV-C LED light. The light is a little dim so I would suggest running the process twice per bottle to be sure. Hope this helps anyone and I will also add I bought this myself, no affiliation with the seller or Amazon, just wanted to show my results for everyone else to help out.
