I got on Amazon to purchase a home phone because it occured to me that I can tell my child to call 911 in the event of an emergency all day, but that would be useless if he can't find my cell phone to call! I needed a slim phone that was wall mountable without all the extras. I wanted one that didn't rely on AC power for use (in case of an emergency/power outage and also so there wouldn't be another cord hanging). I came across this phone and figured I would give it a shot since the price point is excellent and I doubt we'll be using it much. I read several negative reviews about it being cheap, the wall mount being upside down, the handset falling off, etc... And all I have to say is READ THE DIRECTIONS PEOPLE! There is a tiny part that you need to switch around if you are using it for table/desk setup vs. wall mount that prevents the phone from falling off the receiver. Just take 2 mins & reference the included manual and you'll figure out what to do. Satisfied with my purchase and very grateful that a low cost, simple house phone is still on the market.
