I had a PetSafe booster seat for my dog (15 lb Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix) several years ago, but the Florida sun eventually weakened the straps, so I bought a new one for a road trip. All my dog wants to do in the car is nap and look out the windows. He is comfortable in this booster seat and settles down quickly because he can see out the window, which he can't without the booster. When he gets tired, he curls up in the seat to nap. On our road trip, I had his seat secure to the front passenger seat as usual, and he had just dozed off when we were in a high-speed collision. Thank heavens he was in the booster! The booster seat stayed attached to the seat back, although it did tear a little, but it kept him from being thrown around the car and hurt. And having him in the booster doesn't trigger the passenger side airbags, so he was safe from that. Other than being scared, of course, the vet said my pup was fine! I'm so glad I had this to protect him.
