I dont know a decibel from a decimal. I do know nose from lawn equipment. I ordered these ear protectors not to lower the nose to my ears but to simply replace my worn-out protectors. They were held together with duct tape. I read the reviews and noted the few post that are either not happy or skeptical of the effectiveness of the DD product. I have reviewed enough products to know to go with what the majority think. In this case, the vast majority loved the DD product. So, I bought them I was shocked at two things. One: QUIET! Two: Comfortable. The nose levels from my full size zero turn machine and my ear splitting weed eater, are many times quieter than my old protectors. What a pleasant surprise! After 2 hours on my ears, the DD product still feels comfortable. No ear pain or pinch, none! You can search your heart out, you will not find a quieter or more comfortable ear protector than the DD product. I received no favors, discounts or product from the company for this review.
